STEPS:

  • Preheat and Thaw:

    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

    • Allow your puff pastry to thaw for about 15-20 minutes.

  • Prepare Puff Pastry:

    • If your puff pastry comes with parchment paper, use it. If not, line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.

    • After thawing, roll out your puff pastry on the parchment paper on the cookie sheet.

    • Cut the puff pastry into 12 squares (adjust as needed).

  • Assemble Pastries:

    • Place 5 slices of thinly sliced guava paste on the left side of each pastry square, allowing room for folding.

    • Top the guava paste with a thin layer of cream cheese.

  • Fold and Seal:

    • Fold the right side of the pastry over the left, aligning the edges like a taco.

    • Score the top of each pastry and brush with egg wash to ensure flakiness.

  • Bake:

    • Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
