STEPS:

  • Prepare Ingredients:

    • Finely chop the garlic cloves and Thai chili peppers. Alternatively, use a garlic press for the garlic.

  • Sauté Aromatics:

    • Heat oil in a nonstick pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onions and sauté for a few minutes until softened.

    • Add the chopped garlic and Thai chili peppers to the pan. Sauté for another 30 seconds until fragrant, ensuring there is enough oil for aroma.

  • Cook Ground Meat:

    • Add the ground meat to the pan. Cook, breaking it apart with a spatula, until it is no longer pink and cooked through, ensuring it remains juicy without overcooking.

  • Add Sauces and Basil:

    • Stir in the oyster sauce, honey, dark soy sauce, light soy sauce, Thai Sriracha sauce, and garlic chili paste, ensuring the meat is evenly coated.

    • Add the Thai basil leaves to the pan and stir until wilted, maintaining their vibrant color.

  • Serve:

    • Serve the Pad Kra Pao over cooked jasmine rice, topped with a fried egg and garnished with additional Thai basil leaves, sliced green onions, and red chili peppers.

  • Enjoy!
