Dough:
Alternative Dough:
All-Purpose Flour (1 Cup)
Powdered Spirulina (1/2 Tablespoon)
Filling:
Ground Beef (1lb or Meat of Choice)
Low Sodium Soy Sauce (2 Tablespoons, Reduced Sodium)
Green Onion (2 Tablespoons, Chopped)
Napa Cabbage (1/3 - 1/2 Cup, Chopped)
Garlic (1 Tablespoon, Minced)
Ginger Root (1 Teaspoon, Minced)
Shredded Carrots (1/3 - 1/2 Cup, Shredded/Finely Chopped)
Toasted Sesame Oil (1 Teaspoon)
STEPS:
Prepare Dough:
If using the Artisan Kit, follow the provided instructions.
For homemade dough, mix 1 cup of all-purpose flour with 1/2 tablespoon of each natural powder separately (1 teaspoon for turmeric).
Add 7-8 tablespoons of lukewarm water to each mixture until a shaggy dough forms.
Knead each dough into a ball for about 5 minutes. Wrap in plastic wrap and let sit for 30 minutes on a floured surface.
Prepare Filling:
While the dough is resting, combine all filling ingredients in a large bowl and mix well.
Roll and Color Dough:
After 30 minutes, roll each dough out separately. Combine the colored doughs to create a tie-dye effect.
Use a medium-sized cookie cutter to cut circles out of the rolled dough.
Fill Dumplings:
Place a small amount of filling in the center of each dough circle.
Lightly wet the edge of the dough with water on one side, then fold and seal to form a dumpling.
Cook Dumplings:
Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat with a little oil.
Place dumplings in the skillet and pan fry the base until golden brown (about 3 minutes).
Add a small amount of water to the skillet and cover with a lid. Steam for 3-4 minutes to cook the filling through.
Serve:
Serve hot with homemade dumpling sauce (Click Here for Our Recipe).
