Blueberries (12, Raspberries as Alternatives)
Whole Milk (1 Tablespoon, or 1 Egg)

STEPS:
Preheat Oven:
Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking pan with parchment paper.
Prepare Puff Pastry:
Roll out your puff pastry dough (thaw beforehand for about 10-15 minutes).
Prepare Apples:
Peel the apples and cut circular slices crosswise, about 4-6 per apple depending on size.
Remove the core using a round cookie cutter.
Coat Apple Slices:
Create a cinnamon and sugar mix in a separate bowl and mix well.
Coat the apple slices with the cinnamon and sugar mixture.
Cut Puff Pastry:
Roll out the puff pastry if needed (if pre-rolled, it should be ready to go).
Cut into squares slightly larger than your apple slices.
Make an L-shaped cut on each corner, about 5mm from the edge.
Add Preserves:
Spread 1 tsp of apricot preserve or blueberry jam in the middle of each square.
Assemble Pastries:
Top each square with an apple slice.
Fold up the 4 corners to the middle and secure with a blueberry or raspberry.
Brush and Sprinkle:
Brush the top with an egg/milk wash and sprinkle with crystallized sugar.
Bake:
Bake for 25 minutes until puff pastry is golden brown and puffy on top.
Cool and Garnish:
Let cool for 10 minutes.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar and enjoy!
